Things Which Will Case You to Lose Your Erection- Part 2

Carrying on my previous post on causes of erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence in men, here are 4 other causes of ED. These reasons are common and can be easily treated in most cases. The only unfortunate thing is that so many men choose to ignore these signals and suffer the consequences by leading a totally unsatisfactory sex life with their partner.
1. Performance Anxiety: This is something of self fulfilling prophecy, which means that the more you think about how you perform in bed, the harder it becomes for you to do so. The reasons for suffering from performance anxiety can include; peer pressure, lack of confidence in your sexual prowess, unrealistic expectations of your partner etc. This can be treated with relative ease by counseling or therapy.
2. Obesity: Being overweight can affect your sexual performance. Most people who suffer from obesity suffer from lower self esteem, which impacts their sex life. Having those extra kilos on your frame will also make you produce lesser amount of testosterone which is directly linked to sexual arousal and erection. In any case being obese will also affect your general health leading to problems like heart problems, high blood pressure etc. So it makes all the sense for you to lose some weight by going on an regimen of regular exercise combined with a healthy diet, doing so will not only improve your sexual health but also your general health.
3. Negative Self Image: If you are not happy with your own self image, chances are you are not going to be able to perform well in bed. Low self image can be caused by a combination of factors like; your physical appearance, low paying job, lack of education etc. These can all be rectified by making small but meaningful changes in your lifestyle. You can dress up smartly; take extra classes to enhance your education etc. Once you start feeling good about yourself, chances are your sexual performance will improve as well.
4. General Health Problems: If you suffer from any medical conditions like heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, multiple sclerosis or have suffered injuries to the spinal cord or the groin area, prostrate surgery etc; you may suffer from erectile dysfunction because many of these health problems can lead to nerve damage, muscle and tissue damage which can reduce the blood flow to the penis and cause you to lose erection. It is important that you diagnose these problems and get them treated as soon as possible.
So in conclusion to this 2 part series on causes of erectile dysfunction, you need to realize that one or a combination of these factors can lead you to have problems getting and maintaining your erection. ED is treatable and there is no reason for you to suffer unnecessarily because of it. It can be embarrassing for most of us to seek professional help from a doctor or a qualified sexologist due to the delicate nature of the problem, but you must take this first step to be on your way to reclaiming your sex life and start living a much happier and fulfilled intimate relationship with your partner.
